About Us

NSET was formed in 1974 under the name Newfoundland Society of Electroencephalography (EEG) Technologists. Since then there has been an increasing involvement with Electromyography (EMG), Polysomnography (NPSG) and Evoked Potential (EP). Considering this broadening spectrum of technologies, it was decided in 1985 to rename NSET the Newfoundland Society of Electroneurophysiology (ENP) Technologists.

NSET is a nonprofit affiliation consisting of a small group of health care professionals. We strive toward advancement of EEG, EMG, NPSG and EP by promoting the minimal technical standards as set out by the Canadian Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CAET). NSET is actively involved with continuing education and maintains a close relationship with CAET.
